I've been in a few 'garage' bands before as a lead singer, and a wishful rhythm guitarist. I've been playing guitar since April 2003 so I've finally found an outlet for my material, and I've always wanted to be in a band that can get out there, but it's a pain in the ass to have to rely on other people the whole time, so for this and a few other reasons (plain old boredom being one of them) I decided to head out on my musical trip to fame. I don't give a damn about fame though, I just want people to hear my music. I recorded a full length album in a professional studio with an amazing guy called Denis Allen (famous to Limerick people) on July 2nd and at present (late July 2005) I'm desperately trying to give this material some airing whereever possible. Gigging in Limerick (where I live, coincidentally) has become pretty desperate for newcomers like me, but I'm committed to my music, and I really want to get it out there. I played a few gigs around Limerick in the previous bands I was in, in places like Termights night club, Quins pub, and I've also guest vocaled for a band called The Breach in The High Stool. So I know what a great buzz gigging is, and I have experience of it, but I want more. I also need more if I'm to get my material out there. On the album I asked a friend of mine to play the lead guitar parts on the few songs of mine that has dual guitars because I wanted to add a different style to the parts I'd written. He, Kevin Smith, has a unique guitar style plus he's better than I am. However I wrote most of the lead parts, as I write all my songs myself, lyrics included, but Kevin wrote one piece for me that I was having trouble with. So my style is Acoustic/Alternative and I like to experiment with my music. I have a huge background in Metal music. It's my biggest influence and musical taste. I'm heavily influenced by Metallica, Judas Priest and Iron Maiden, but I also listen to bands like System Of A Down, Rammstein and Green Day, so in my songs there will be a plethora of different styles running through them, and listening through my album will clarify that for anyone. I mess with capos, down tunings and styles of playing. Music to me, is my life, and it's also a LOT of fun. I play music, I listen to music nearly all the time whenever possible. I'm sitting here typing this while listening to music too. I immerse myself in it and I love it, so I'm sure you can understand the passion I have for playing and trying to get my music out there and heard, and, hopefully, appreciated, but that's secondary. If you want to hear the full songs you'll have to buy my album, I'm not being mean about it, but I don't want to compromise my copyright to the songs. All sites that host mp3s tend to ask for royalty-free license to distribute and maintain the songs, and that is not what I want. Sorry about that, but I'm very teritorial about my music.
